INGREDIENTS:
- 1 3/4 c - all purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp shortening
- 2/3 c water
- oil for frying
- cinnamon and sugar mix
- honey
INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine the dry ingredients and then cut in shortening until crumbly. Gradually add water, tossing with a fork until mixture holds together.
On a floured surface knead dough for about 2 mins until smooth. Cover at let stand for 5 mins.
Roll out to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into 2 1/2 in triangles.
Heat oil to 375 degrees in a deep fat fryer or electric skillet and fry on both side for 1-2 mins until golden brown and puffy. Remove from oil and sprinkle with your cinnamon sugar mix, drizzle honey over them and eat while still warm.
